Consumers have faced a long historical, almost seemingly immovable object when it comes to changing the way they keep track of their purchases. Despite significant advances in technology, we continue to rely on keeping paper receipts in case we get into trouble. In other words, the old shoe box still has not yet been replaced by the hard drive or a cloud storage service.
Almost everyone has had an instance where they needed to find that receipt for a refund, or service under warranty but either could not, or were too lazy to look, resulting in unnecessary cost of product disposal and loss of time.
Numerous companies have tried to crack this problem. Offering OCR image capture, email scanning, upload image capability, yet none has really yet to see real traction. Most of what has been in the market today contain various degrees of friction and don’t contain the additional spin offs it needs to provide real value for the user.
Furthermore, people need one place where they keep track of their products, not receipts maintained in various places.
The difficulty lies in the providers who provide the receipts. Receipts are typically issued by retailers who have no real incentive to make it a convenient process for the user because receipts back returns or warranty claims that inherently offer no real payback to solve the issue for the customer as it is not to their benefit.
We see this as a contradiction in a market driven by consumers. The customer is the most valued piece of the entire economic puzzle, yet is cast aside the receipt tracking issue when it comes to supporting them when a product they purchased has a problem. Shouldn’t an effort be made to provide a convenient method for resolution?
When a customer who purchased an extended warranty has to spend 30 minutes on the phone trying to verify their purchase, validate the claim and finally get help, we knew something is broken.
At Warranty Life, we want to be the place where people track their receipts and get real value for doing that. We want to empower consumers and businesses to save them time and make their product ownership experience a good one. When that comes to warranty claims, we want to be the platform where we take that 30 minute process and turn it into seconds while being pleasant, positive and friendly. We want a seamless and frictionless system where their products can be loaded without taking a picture and having to consolidate with multiple sources, while providing easy access when they need it, anytime, anywhere.
The journey doesn’t end at storing receipts, it continues when a user needs to do something with it. Warranty Life wants to make it easy when a user needs to make a return, an exchange, a claim with manufacturer or when they buy a protection plan.
By having the information stored and authenticated in one place, our goal is to make the product ownership experience complete in a user friendly, beneficial way and manage it for the life of their product ownership. No more shoe boxes needed!
